PR Giant Edelman
Hires Britton for Austin Office
International public relations giant Edelman
has signed up Tiffiny Britton to direct
communications and governmental affairs programs as an account
supervisor in its Austin office.
Britton, a former chief of staff and communications director
for State Senator Steve Ogden of Bryan,
is fresh off the campaign trail after raising more than
$2.5 million for State Rep. Arlene Wohlgemuth's
race for Congress this year. A graduate of Texas A&M
University, Britton worked for Ogden in both the House and
the Senate over a 10-year period.
While serving as the Senate Infrastructure Development
and Security Committee's director during the legislative
session in 2003, Britton had a key role in the development
and passage of the massive transportation package that Ogden
sponsored in the Senate.
Edelman Vice President Thomas Graham said
Britton will be a "great fit" to the company's
Austin team. "Her experience and expertise complements
many of our existing clients’ needs and her energy
and enthusiasm will be of great value as we continue to
grow our firm in Austin.”
Edelman, which has offices in the United States, Canada,
Europe and Asia, tapped Graham to lead the Austin office
two years ago as the firm shifted its emphasis from high-tech
PR to public affairs consulting in the Texas Capital City.
The company's Texas team works out of offices in Dallas
and Houston as well as Austin and handles communications
and public relations needs for clients that include Fluor,
the Coalition to Invest in Texas Schools, Lone Star Infrastructure,
AMD, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Special Olympics and
the Boy Scouts of America.
The public affairs group in Austin works closely with Edelman's
Washington D.C. office, which features marquee names such
as Michael Deaver, a deputy chief of staff
in the Reagan White House and best-selling author. Deaver
is director of corporate affairs in Washington.
